In Short : Suzlon Energy has secured a 642 MW wind project from ABC Cleantech. This contract signifies a substantial development in the renewable energy sector, highlighting Suzlon’s role in advancing wind energy projects and contributing to India’s clean energy goals.
In Detail : Renewables solutions provider Suzlon Group has secured a 642 MW wind power project from an Evren company, ABC Cleantech (ACPL). Evren is the new development platform launched by Brookfield in India as a joint venture with Axis Energy.
Under this contract, Suzlon will install and commission 214 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of three MW each in Andhra Pradesh. The company will also be responsible for comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) services post-commissioning. A project of this size can provide electricity to around 5.28 lakh households, and curb about 20.87 lakh tonne of CO2 emissions annually.
Suzlon is committed to partnering with Evren to enhance their green energy portfolios while helping advance India’s renewable energy goals. It seeks to leverage its expertise and operational capacities to develop and operate a high-quality clean energy portfolio in India over the years. Evren has an initial target to build over six GW of renewable energy assets in the next two to three years in the most resource-rich states in the country.
Suzlon turbines use time-tested doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) technology which efficiently integrates wind turbines into the utility network to meet grid requirements.
