Renewable energy company EDP Renovaveis SA (ELI:EDPR) has won a 15-year contract-for-difference (CfD) for a 20-MWp solar scheme in Poland’s latest auction.
With the CfD, the company secured an attractive tariff inflation-indexed on an annual basis, it said on Tuesday.
To be located in the region of West Pomeranian Voivodeship, the solar project is expected to commence operations by 2025.
Poland continues to be a relevant region for the renewable energy giant. Among its recent activities in the country, is the commissioning of the 200-MWp Przykona solar plant and the completion of the sale of a 301-MW Polish wind and solar portfolio to Orlen Wind 3, a subsidiary of oil refiner Orlen SA (WSE:PKN).
EDPR noted that solar power currently accounts for more than 20% of its global portfolio. Overall, the company aims to have large-scale solar capacity representing some 30% of its business’s installed capacity, with some 7% as distributed generation alone.
